Chest Wall Pain

Are you experiencing discomfort in your chest? Chest wall pain, though often alarming, is usually not a sign of a heart attack. This pain originates from the muscles, bones or tissues in your chest wall rather than your heart. It can feel sharp, dull or achy and might worsen with movement or deep breaths.
Common causes of chest wall pain include muscle strain from heavy lifting, sudden movements or poor posture. Sometimes, inflammation in the joints that connect your ribs to your breastbone (costochondritis) can also trigger this pain. Even a minor injury to the chest or a respiratory infection can lead to discomfort in the chest area.

Chest wall pain can be quite uncomfortable, but our caring physician and team are here to help. To start, Dr. Maxime Debrosse needs to figure out what is causing your pain by asking questions about your health and doing some tests if needed. If your pain is not too strong, you might find relief with simple pain medicines like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. For some folks, doing special exercises under the guidance of a physical therapist can make the pain go away. Dr. Debrosse might also suggest changes in your daily habits, like improving your posture or avoiding activities that make the pain worse. If there is an underlying issue, such as acid reflux or a condition called costochondritis, we will work on treating that.

Our goal is to create a customized plan just for you at Relieve-Pain and Spine Center, so you can feel better and get back to your regular activities after your chest wall pain treatment in Mount Dora and Orlando, Florida. Call 689-208-4848 to schedule your visit today.
